Phoenix Eye Films is thrilled to announce that the Echo 8 Trilogy has been awarded the Fairfield City Council’s prestigious Creative Communities Grant. This significant recognition will allow the Echo 8 team to kickstart a series of four dynamic workshops aimed at nurturing local talent and fostering a thriving screen industry from the grassroots up.
Maria Tran, a key driving force behind the Echo 8 Trilogy, emphasizes the importance of accessibility and community engagement in the workshops. "All workshops are free to the community, ensuring that this opportunity remains open and inclusive. Through this process, I believe we can build a screen industry that is truly community-led," says Tran.

Crafting Stories for the Screen: A Scriptwriting Workshop

About the Echo 8 Trilogy Project:
The Echo 8 Trilogy is a community and cultural development feature film project that collaborates with local digital artists and storytellers from diverse backgrounds within the Fairfield LGA. The project aims to bring balance to the media landscape through a community-driven approach, facilitating collaboration among new, emerging, and established artists.
Through a series of workshops, project development sessions, and public presentations, participants will hone their skills in various film production roles, including acting, stunts, and more. The initiative places a strong emphasis on empowering women in the arts and fostering global outcomes, with the final product slated for distribution on Amazon Prime in 2026.
The Echo 8 Trilogy: Story to Screen Workshop Series is managed by Phoenix Eye Films and funded through the Fairfield City Council’s Creative Communities Grant. The project is auspiced by Diversity Arts Australia and supported by Arts & Cultural Exchange, Studio 2166, Fairfield City Open Libraries, Invincible HQ, PYT Fairfield, Tang Media, and Keeping News Local.
